Well the first impressions are over, and to be honest i cant see me playing past the first free month if i make it that far.

Ive been playing a guardian and enjoying it at first, but the game just isnt capturing my focus at all.

It could be my class though i enjoyed playing tanks in Warcraft it may not be the class for me here, so i will try the others first before i leave.

Though i think its just the mmo blues i have the feeling ive done this all before in warcraft and though it looks different and play's slightly different its stiill the same old.

Is it just time to face facts and say mmo's are not for me anymore did i play wow too much and enjoy it so much that first year that nothing is going to touch it again or fill me with the same satisfaction.

I hope not but as it stands that's the case im afraid to say.

I personnally love AoC at the moment. Find the game different enough from other MMO for my liking. I also love the fact that you can play the same quests either in solo (normal) mode or in group (epic) mode so that grouping with guildies can start pretty early in the game and becomes pretty challenging and fun also.
I also played wow a few years back and don't have at all that feeling of deja vu. Maybe you just don't like the gardien in AoC or it reminds you too much of what you have been doing before indeed or maybe you need a break with MMO. I did that a few years back and it was good and refreshing Wink

Yea i thought i had had a big enough break 6 months or so but probably just doesn't satisfy me now.

Warcraft i think just did me serious damage in terms of how good it was.

Ill see out the month and see how it goes going to try a different class.

I am really enjoying AoC - I levelled a couple of characters to 6 just to get a feel for which I prefered and seem to have settled on my Conquorer and I really am becoming immersed in the lore.

I stopped playing EQ2 probably 3 months ago so had quite a big break between the games and I believe this has served me very well.

There are a few quirks that need addressing, but hopefully that will be forthcoming over the next few weeks. The chat interface is very poor and the mobs are ALL a little too social, so executing clean pulls is proving to be awkward, but at the moment this only adds to the realism I feel that AoC offers, if I was hanging out at the campfire with my buddies and one jumped up and ran off - I would jump up and follow to see what was up. Razz

The Melee is awesome - I am so enjoying real time combat, and the diversity I currently have in weapon types vs combo attacks. Still practising my defensive moves though, there is a great deal going on in combat, so it certainly keeps you on your toes - especially when the a whole zone of mobs joins for the bundle!

All in All I hope to be hanging about Hyboria for a while longer yet. Smile

I find it differs enough from the standard mmo to entertain me for a while...besides it gives the opportunity to group without making the quests too easy and that's an additional incentive as far as I'm concerned Smile

As Leda and others said, it's not perfect but with some tweaks and patches it will be even better I'm sure...

Whatever your decision Fairmer, enjoy your choice Wink

I have to say, im really enjoying it aswell, Ive still got a active WoW accnt with 4 70's on it, but I havnt logged for a Kara or ZA raid since I've been in closed beta Smile, well, I havnt logged atall!

Like Leda, I'm really enjoying the DT combat, and I'm also liking the ToS and Assassin i've tried, and the ranger :p

At the very least i think the levelling of different characters will keep me going a while.
